Following is a description of the main areas of experience and expertise of NWCC staff:
Brian Len is a Professional Engineer registered in Colorado and President of NWCC. He received a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado (1978) and is a Certified Environmental Inspector (EAA). Mr. Len has 26 years of geotechnical/environmental engineering and construction observation/materials testing experience. Mr. Len’s expertise is in the fields of slope stability evaluation, dam design, earthen embankment evaluation and design and planning geotechnical investigations for building, subdivisions, roadways, mining facilities and water and sewage treatment plants. He has conducted soils and foundation investigations for small dams and impoundments, and industrial/commercial/residential buildings, distressed structures, construction observation and testing and Phase 1 and 2 environmental investigations. Mr. Len is responsible for the review and approval of soils, foundation and environmental project work and materials engineering and construction observation review. He is also responsible for negotiating fees and contracts, budgets, technical review, proposal preparation, marketing and development of work schedules.

Timothy Travis (Tim) is a Project Engineer with NWCC. He received a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Wyoming (1992) and is a Professional Engineer registered in Wyoming. Mr. Travis has 11 years of civil/structural/geotechnical engineering and construction observation/materials testing experience. Mr. Travis is experienced conducting geotechnical investigations for industrial, commercial and residential construction that includes planning field programs, subsurface assessment, sample collection, field mapping, laboratory testing and preparation of geotechnical reports. He has completed many assessments of expansive soil conditions, provided design alternatives for these projects as warranted and conducted material and special inspections as required during the construction phase of these projects. Engineering design and inspections of on-site sewage disposal systems, structural and geotechnical design of spread footing and drilled pier foundation systems and light structural design of concrete, steel, timber and masonry are included in Mr. Travis’ experience portfolio.

Gary Webber is a Senior Environmental Consultant with NWCC. He received a B.A. in Geological Sciences from the University of Southern Maine and is a Registered Professional Geologist. Mr. Webber has twenty years experience in the environmental business. His main areas of expertise include characterization and remediation of contaminated sites, development of groundwater remediation systems, groundwater supply exploration, and the occurrence of gasoline components in groundwater over large areas. He also has been involved in the field of transportation were he has worked on highway and bridge expansions.

In addition, to the above personnel, NWCC employs four to ten field technicians/inspectors. All of our field technicians have college degrees, many are engineers and certified in the fields of concrete, soil and asphalt testing, and some special inspections (welds for example). We can provide resumes for any of our employees upon request.
